17-year-old Federico Cina shared his thoughts on competing at the Miami Masters, where he entered with a wild card. He was defeated by Grigor Dimitrov in the second round, losing 1-6, 4-6.
Cina expressed his excitement about the experience, saying, “It`s amazing because I always watched [top players] on TV. I had never seen them live before. It`s very cool, and I`m enjoying every moment here.”
When asked about his tennis idol, Cina didn`t hesitate to name Novak Djokovic. “Djokovic is my idol. The way he plays is unsurpassed for me,” he stated.
Looking back at his recent achievements, Cina highlighted his first Challenger final in Heraklion the previous week, where he won against Aslan Karatsev.
Reflecting on that milestone, Cina mentioned, “It was my first final at the Challengers. I played great, and it gave me a lot of confidence. I also learned a lot, which is wonderful,” as quoted by the ATP official website.
