Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated world No. 1 Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka on her victory at the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami, USA. In the final match, she overcame world No. 5 American Jessica Pegula, with the score being 7-5, 6-2.
In a statement, Lukashenko said, “Congratulations on your triumph at the Miami tournament. With your powerful, consistent, and elegant play, you have once again demonstrated your leading position in women`s world tennis. We take pride in your achievements and always support you. I wish you strong health and further successes.”
The Miami victory marks the 19th singles title of Aryna Sabalenka`s career. It is also her eighth WTA 1000 tournament win and her second in 2025.
