Despite his recent losses potentially linked to high activity, Volkanovski expressed his desire for a quick title defense as early as July, mentioning Movsar Evloev as a potential opponent.
Volkanovski stated at the post-fight press conference: `September? If all is well, I`d prefer sooner. Perhaps a fight in July, then September against Movsar, if they agree to a quick turnaround and if my hands are okay.`
Although Volkanovski sustained some damage against Lopes, it`s unlikely he suffered any fractures, making a July return a strong possibility.
