World No. 2 Alexander Zverev has named a quartet of players, including himself, who define modern men`s tennis and are playing at an exceptional level.
Zverev commented, “Four of us are demonstrating a roughly similar level of play. Last season was somewhat inconsistent: my performance in the second half of the year wasn`t ideal, Alcaraz had both highs and lows, while Sinner was consistent. Nevertheless, I remain among the leaders, along with Djokovic. Restoring balance in the fight for the top spot is quite achievable.”
He added, “It`s great to see new names, but currently, there are four players showing extra-class tennis: Sinner, myself holding the second position in the ranking, Alcaraz, and Novak. The competition between us is very intense.”
Zverev expressed confidence for the future, stating, “I am sure that in 2025, we will remain the center of attention, and the season will be more even than previous ones. It would be short-sighted to draw conclusions based only on 2024, as many unexpected events occurred. I feel rested and ready for new achievements.”
