World No. 2 German tennis player Alexander Zverev stated that winning several matches is crucial for him to regain confidence on the court.
“Winning matches is key to gaining confidence and getting into the right mindset. I definitely need to win a few matches and show some good tennis. Things can change very quickly. In Miami, I felt like I was playing better than before, and then I got a stiff neck, which was a bit unfortunate for me, so I was a little limited. But even after winning that match, things can change quickly.”
“In the quarterfinals, I would have played Jakub Mensik. He certainly won the tournament, but perhaps if I regained my confidence, I would be the favorite in all of these matches. Things can happen fast, and I hope it happens in the next few weeks,” Zverev said, according to the official ATP website.
At the Miami Masters, Zverev lost in the fourth round to Arthur Fils with a score of 6-3, 3-6, 4-6.
