Filipino tennis player Alexandra Eala commented on her second-round match at the tournament in Madrid (Spain), where she was defeated by world No. 2 Iga Swiatek of Poland. The score was 6/4, 4/6, 2/6 in favor of Swiatek.
Earlier this year, Eala had notably upset Swiatek at the tournament in Miami (USA).
“I am pleased with the match, with how I played and fought,” Eala said. “Obviously, I was in a good position after taking the first set and leading with a break. But you have to understand that you are not alone on the court; there is an opponent on the other side. Moreover, she is a multiple Roland Garros champion. Iga played a good match. I need to learn from these moments.”
When asked about the difference between today`s match and the one in Miami, Eala replied, “Probably, in the important moments, she played better today. Her level was slightly higher than mine.”
