Former world No. 9 Andrei Chesnokov commented on the decline in Daniil Medvedev`s game. Following the Masters in Miami, Medvedev is set to drop out of the Top 10 rankings.
“Currently, Daniil is playing unconvincingly, and with this level of play, it will be challenging for him to return to the top ten. I wouldn`t say he`s completely playing poorly, but at best, he`s performing like a player in the Top 40. He is not yet ready to compete on equal terms with the best tennis players,” Chesnokov stated.
“It’s difficult to predict how long this slump might last. Perhaps he will be able to show something on clay, but for now, it’s hard to believe,” Chesnokov was quoted by news agency.
