World number one Aryna Sabalenka commented on her opponent Iga Swiatek`s game after defeating her in the Roland Garros semifinal with a score of 7/6(1), 4/6, 6/0.
At the post-match press conference, Sabalenka was asked for her assessment of Swiatek`s playing level, noting that their last encounter was about 10 months prior.
“Since then, we have both improved significantly. I believe we played a very high-level match today,” Sabalenka stated.
“Iga played very well. In the first half of the match, both of us had difficulties with our serve.”
“I think she is playing great tennis. Perhaps she has become less confident, which is why she sometimes misses shots she shouldn`t. But overall, I think our match was of a very high level,” Aryna added at the press conference.
