Atlanta Drive Wins Inaugural TGL Championship

The TGL championship concluded on Tuesday night with Atlanta Drive Golf Club facing off against New York Golf Club in the second game of a best-of-three series for the inaugural TGL title.

After winning the first match 6-5, Atlanta continued their winning streak. In Tuesday`s game, Atlanta achieved a comeback victory, defeating New York 4-3 to win the series and take home the SoFi Cup.

Atlanta`s team featured Billy Horschel, Patrick Cantlay, and Justin Thomas, while Lucas Glover was not active. New York`s team included Xander Schauffele, Cameron Young, and Rickie Fowler, with Matt Fitzpatrick absent from the lineup.

Cantlay`s Near Miss for Early Lead

Following a missed putt by New York`s Young, Cantlay had a chance to give Atlanta an early advantage on the first hole. Despite a well-struck 20-foot putt, the ball narrowly missed the hole, keeping the score tied.

Schauffele Puts New York in the Lead

New York broke the tie in the triples portion of the match. Schauffele`s excellent first shot on Hole 7 positioned his team to take a 1-0 lead, landing the ball within 5 feet of the hole.

Young Extends New York`s Advantage

NYGC built on their lead from Hole 7 by scoring again on Hole 8. Young`s approach shot landed just 15 inches from the cup. New York opted to double the hole`s value, but Atlanta declined, resulting in another point for New York.

New York Leads 3-0

New York further widened the gap against Atlanta in the singles portion. Schauffele`s victory over Thomas on Hole 10 extended New York`s lead to 3-0.

Horschel Secures Atlanta`s Lead on Hole 14

After gradually closing the gap in singles, Atlanta finally took the lead on Hole 14. Fowler`s first shot into the bunker opened an opportunity for Atlanta to use the hammer. Horschel capitalized with an approximately 18-foot putt, giving Atlanta a 4-3 lead and ultimately securing the championship on Hole 15.
