Former world number one Boris Becker has discussed the possibility that Novak Djokovic`s appearance at this year`s Roland Garros might have been his last.
“When I think about it, I get goosebumps again – just like that evening. It had to happen sooner or later. He is 38 years old, and he is having an average season. A semi-final in Melbourne is good, a final in Miami is great. But on clay, apart from Geneva, he didn`t accomplish his goals. And he has to ask himself: if he`s not winning as much anymore, why continue?” Becker said.
“He wants to win 25 Grand Slams, that`s what he`s aiming for,” Becker stated. “I think he is still good on grass. It`s easier for him there than on clay. And with what he showed last week, why not? But in a year… Who knows if we will see him at Roland Garros again?”
