Boston Legacy FC, poised to join the NWSL as the league`s 15th club, has officially unveiled its new team crest and branding. They are scheduled to begin competing in the 2026 regular season, joining fellow expansion team, Denver NWSL.

The club had previously introduced preliminary branding in October 2024. However, this initial reveal faced significant backlash and criticism, leading to a re-launch under the name Boston Legacy FC. The club officially presented its updated team crest, colors, and branding on Saturday.

`This crest is another step in building a new sporting legacy in Boston,` stated Boston Legacy FC controlling manager Jennifer Epstein. `Swans encompass our core club values of integrity, grit, and style. They are famously loyal, relentless in defending their territory, and iconic residents of our waterways and green spaces. We are excited to see our fans and players wearing this incredible crest when we kick off in 2026 at Gillette Stadium, and continue to build towards the future with our home field of White Stadium in partnership with the City of Boston.`

Created over five months by graphic designer Matthew Wolff, the new club crest features colors green, black, and white. The design prominently features a swan as the main focal point. The eight feathers incorporated into the crest are intended to represent the original eight NWSL teams, including the former Boston Breakers franchise, which ceased operations after facing financial mismanagement issues prior to the 2018 season. Additionally, the angles forming the swan`s wings are designed to reflect the architecture of Boston`s Zakim Bridge.

While the club is currently undertaking renovations at White Stadium, construction delays mean that the team will play its inaugural season at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. Boston Legacy will be the first professional women`s soccer team to play its regular season matches at the NFL facility. The team is currently slated to transition to White Stadium for the 2027 season.
