Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz commented on the upcoming return to the court of the world number 1 from Italy, Jannik Sinner. Sinner is set to make his comeback at the Rome Masters after withdrawing from the recent Madrid Open due to injury. His first match in Rome will be in the second round against Mariano Navone of Argentina.
“I am very happy about Jannik`s return,” Alcaraz stated, as reported by journalist Jose Morgado on social media. “There is no better place for Jannik to return than Rome. His return is good for everyone: for me, for himself, and for tennis in general. I hope we meet in the final.”
Both Alcaraz and Sinner are scheduled to play their opening matches at the Rome tournament on Friday. Alcaraz is slated to face Dusan Lajovic from Serbia.
