Casper Ruud Labels Potential Madrid Masters Victory ‘Ironic’

World No. 15 Casper Ruud has shared his thoughts on the prospect of securing his maiden Masters title in Madrid.

“Strange things happen in tennis,” Ruud commented. “Last year I made the final in Monte Carlo after playing great tennis for months, and now I`m in the final here despite not showing a good level for a long time. It would indeed be ironic if I were to become the champion.”

He further added during a press conference, “I don`t think much has dramatically changed this week compared to recent months. Perhaps it`s simply a matter of luck. I will undoubtedly give my absolute best to win, but if the outcome isn`t favorable, life continues. I will remain the same person regardless of the result.”
