The flyweight fighter, representing San Antonio, Texas, competed eight times in the UFC. His last fight was in Mexico City, where he aimed to recover from two previous defeats against Edgar Chairez.
Chairez quickly defeated Vergara, securing a first-round submission after a strong striking performance. This victory in Mexico City was particularly significant for Chairez.

CJ Vergara Removed from UFC Roster After 8 Fights
UFC Roster Watch reported on Thursday that Vergara has been removed from the UFC roster.
It remains unclear whether Vergara`s departure is due to the expiration of his contract or a result of being released after consecutive losses.
Vergara joined the UFC in 2021 through Dana White’s Contender Series. He initially had a 3-2 record in his first five fights but ended his UFC stint with a 3-5 record after losing his last three matches against Asu Almabayev, Ramazan Temirov, and Edgar Chairez.
Vergara missed weight three times in his eight UFC fights, including once against the then-undefeated prospect Tatsuro Taira.
Vergara`s Memorable Win
In March 2023, Vergara gained attention for his reaction against Daniel Lacerda when he briefly retreated after hurting his opponent.
Despite this moment, Vergara recovered and achieved a comeback knockout victory in the second round, finishing Lacerda with ground and pound.
This highlight of his UFC career occurred in his hometown of San Antonio, earning Vergara a $50,000 performance bonus.
Throughout his career, CJ Vergara has secured 12 wins, with 7 knockouts.
