Coco Gauff has stated her preference between winning another Grand Slam tournament and becoming the world number one ranked player. The American tennis star, who won the US Open in 2023, is currently ranked third in the world, with her highest ranking being second.
When asked to choose between winning another Grand Slam title and reaching the world number one spot, Gauff responded, “Another Grand Slam.”
She elaborated, “I always say that. I think people remember you more for Grand Slam titles than for being number one in the rankings. Of course, it`s great to achieve both.”
Gauff added, “But personally, I would like another title, especially since I only have one so far. If I had around four and still hadn`t been world number one, I might think differently. But with just one Grand Slam victory, I want to win more to solidify my status,” she explained at a press conference in Miami.
