Conor McGregor Jests About Son’s Soccer Skills, Declares ‘Not Fielding Offers’

It seems Conor McGregor`s oldest son is following in his father`s footsteps, but perhaps in a different arena. The former two-division UFC champion has had ample time with his family during his long break from fighting, which started after his leg injury against Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

Recently, McGregor was seen cheering from the sidelines at his eight-year-old son`s soccer match. The famous fighter, known as `Notorious`, later posted a video of his son`s performance, accompanied by a proud caption highlighting the youngster`s talent.

Conor McGregor Jr. Shows Sporting Potential

On the soccer pitch, young Conor demonstrated a different kind of striking ability compared to his father. Conor Jr. was the sole goal-scorer for his team in a dominant 7-1 victory, a performance that clearly impressed `Mystic Mac`.

The father of four shared a clip of a shot that hit the crossbar, suggesting it should have counted as his son`s eighth goal. In a humorous move, McGregor used his social media post to decline any potential offers for his son`s sports career.

He tweeted: “Congrats Conor McGregor Jnr. and team on the win! 7-1 and Conor scored all 7! This should have been ruled number 8 down off the crossbar. But sure look. Onward! We are not fielding offers, we remain loyal to club and to country.”

McGregor`s Fighting Future

During his extended break, McGregor has frequently discussed a possible return to mixed martial arts. However, speculation about his comeback has been quiet recently in 2025, leading some fans to wonder if he will ever compete in the UFC again.

McGregor recently addressed these concerns by indicating interest in fighting the winner of the Michael Chandler vs. Paddy Pimblett bout from UFC 314 last month. Following that event, McGregor focused on his perceived “unfinished business” with Chandler, seemingly dismissing Pimblett`s win.

While UFC CEO Dana White hasn`t provided recent updates on McGregor`s return plans, he is expected to face questions about it around UFC 315.
