Cris Cyborg Scores Brutal First-Round Boxing KO, Trolls Claressa Shields

Last Saturday in San Jose, former UFC champion Cris Cyborg stepped back into the boxing ring to face Precious Harris-McCray.

Since departing the UFC in 2019, Cyborg has compiled an impressive record in both MMA and boxing, demonstrating her powerful striking abilities across disciplines.

Despite being under contract with the PFL (following their acquisition of Bellator), Cyborg has publicly expressed dissatisfaction with the promotion`s management, citing a lack of fight opportunities that results in her inactivity in MMA.

To remain active, the formidable Brazilian fighter has pursued boxing, securing multiple knockout victories and quickly establishing herself as a potential force in the sport.

Cyborg`s Return to Boxing and Brutal KO

Returning to boxing for the first time since October (and her last PFL fight), the former UFC champion fought Precious Harris-McCray at Fight Night 3 in San Jose.

Cyborg had previously scored a third-round knockout victory over Valentina Angarita in March.

This time, the 39-year-old delivered another dominant performance, finishing Harris-McCray in the first round with a punishing series of punches.

Cyborg Trolls Claressa Shields Following KO Win

For several years, Cyborg has engaged in an online rivalry with undisputed boxing champion Claressa Shields, frequently challenging `T-Rex` to an MMA bout.

Shields herself has competed in the PFL for three MMA fights (winning two and losing one), reportedly attributing her limited MMA appearances to time constraints.

Following her quick KO win, Cyborg took a shot at Shields, stating, “Only 5 boxing fights but I’ve already got more KO’s than Claressa Shields.”

This comment references Shields` record, who, despite often being called the greatest female fighter of all time (GWOAT), has only three knockout victories in her 16-fight, undefeated boxing career.
