Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a two-year contract extension with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, committing his future to the club until 2027. His previous agreement was set to expire in the summer of 2025. Despite reports of interest from various clubs globally, as acknowledged by Ronaldo himself, the Portuguese forward has opted to extend his stay with the team he initially joined in December 2022.
Prior to winning the UEFA Nations League final with Portugal this summer, the former Manchester United forward indicated that several clubs were interested in acquiring his services, particularly in light of the FIFA Club World Cup. FIFA president Gianni Infantino had also hinted at this possibility. Ultimately, Ronaldo decided to remain in the Saudi league.
Announcing the news on his social media channels, Cristiano Ronaldo posted:
`A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let`s make history together.`
Cristiano Ronaldo`s decision to continue his career at Al-Nassr suggests this club may potentially be his final one before he retires from professional football.
Speaking to the media recently, he commented, “`I know the end of my career is near, but I will continue playing until I`ll be happy to do it`.” Ronaldo, who turned 40 in February 2025, has amassed a remarkable 956 goals throughout his career in all competitions and is widely celebrated as one of the sport`s all-time greatest players.
