Dana White to Launch TKO Boxing with Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford Super-Fight

Dana White is set to launch his major venture into the boxing world this September with one of the most anticipated fights in recent history.

Canelo Alvarez`s recent points victory over William Scull, though uneventful, didn`t diminish anticipation for his next bout. Many saw the fight primarily as a prelude to boxing`s true superfight.

Following the fight in Riyadh, boxing promoter Turki Alalshikh orchestrated a highly anticipated face-off between the undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez and two-weight undisputed champion Terence Crawford.

Dana White Confirms TKO Boxing Launch

Turki Alalshikh later provided more details via a post on X (formerly Twitter). While Dana White wasn`t part of the initial in-ring announcement, Alalshikh confirmed the event marks the debut of TKO Boxing, a joint venture. He stated:

“We will deliver the fight of the century with Riyadh Season on Sept. 12 at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium… The legend Canelo defends his Ring Magazine title vs. the great Terence Crawford… My brother Dana White will promote this first TKO boxing event with me. It will be something crazy.”

Industry sources speculate the television platform for the fight will be Netflix. The streaming giant has previously been involved in boxing with the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson event and airs TKO Group`s WWE programming globally. They are also set to broadcast Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 in July.

Terence Crawford Comments on Canelo Alvarez Bout

After Alvarez`s points win, Crawford entered the ring for the highly anticipated face-off. The intense staredown between the two undisputed champions generated significant excitement among boxing fans.

Speaking to Seconds Out afterward, Crawford stated:

“Canelo is the face of boxing, he is the best fight for Terence Crawford out there and the biggest fight for Terence Crawford out there. So that’s why Terence Crawford wants to take the opportunity to share the ring with another great.”

Regarding the fight itself and potential factors like weight or Canelo`s form, Crawford added:

“September 12 we are all going to see if the weight makes a difference or not… One fight at a time… William was just doing a good job moving a lot and neutralizing his power punches. If you watch the styles that beat him, they didn’t move a lot. They moved a little bit but not as much as William Scull.”
