Today, May 7th, marks the 28th birthday of Australian tennis player Daria Kasatkina, who was born in Russia. We extend our best wishes for her continued success on and off the court.
Born on May 7, 1997, in Togliatti, Russia, Daria Kasatkina`s tennis journey began at the age of six. Her family includes her father Sergey, mother Tatiana, and her brother Alexander, who also works as her fitness coach.
In 2014, Kasatkina won the French Open Junior title, which coincided with the start of her professional career that same year. Throughout her career, she has **secured six WTA singles titles** and accumulated over $13.2 million in prize money.
Her most significant achievement at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the semifinals of Roland Garros in 2022. She was also a member of the victorious Russian team at the Billie Jean King Cup in 2021.
In October 2022, she reached her career-high WTA ranking of World No. 8. She is currently ranked World No. 15.
In March of this year, Kasatkina announced that she had obtained permanent residency in Australia and would be changing her sporting nationality to represent Australia.
When not playing tennis, Daria enjoys spending time with friends and is an avid football fan, famously supporting FC Barcelona.
