Former world No. 1 tennis player, Dinara Safina, has revealed the latest addition to the team of 17-year-old Russian sensation and world No. 7, Mirra Andreeva. Azuz Simcich, a highly respected fitness coach with a proven track record, is joining Andreeva`s camp. Simcich has previously worked with Wimbledon 2022 champion Elena Rybakina, Garbine Muguruza, Karolina Pliskova, and Tomas Berdych.
Safina commented on Andreeva`s progress, stating in an interview, “I really admire Mirra`s approach. I`ve been watching her game since last year, especially her movement on the court. At this level, the role of a fitness coach is paramount, particularly for recovery.”
Simcich was observed with Andreeva during a practice session leading up to the WTA 500 tournament in Stuttgart, Germany.
Simcich`s departure from Rybakina`s team occurred in early 2025, coinciding with the end of Elena`s collaboration with coach Goran Ivanisevic.
