Russian tennis player Evgeny Donskoy is celebrating his 35th birthday today. He is receiving numerous well wishes from the tennis community, and we join in wishing him continued success in all his pursuits.
Born in Moscow on May 9, 1990, Evgeny is the son of Evgeny and Irina, both of whom are involved in business. He has two older brothers named Grigory and Maxim. Donskoy began his tennis journey at the age of seven.
He turned professional in 2007. Over the course of his career, he has secured 12 Challenger tournament titles and accumulated $3,416,415 in prize money.
Donskoy`s most notable achievements at Grand Slam tournaments were reaching the third round at both the Australian Open and the US Open in 2013. In July of that year, he achieved his career-high ranking, climbing to World No. 65. His current position in the world rankings is 705.
Although he has not competed professionally since September of the previous year, Donskoy has not made an official announcement regarding his retirement. In the current season, he has been seen assisting fellow player Karen Khachanov at tournaments and is also working as a journalist for the `Bolshe!` project.
