Today, Russian professional tennis player Karen Khachanov celebrates his 28th birthday. We join in the numerous congratulations extended to Karen and wish him continued success both on and off the court.

Karen Khachanov was born on May 21, 1996, in Moscow. His father, Abgar, played volleyball at a high level before pursuing a career in medicine; his mother, Natalia, also studied medicine. Karen has a sister, Margarita, and a brother, Georgiy. He started playing tennis at the young age of three.

Khachanov turned professional in 2013. Throughout his career, he has secured seven ATP singles titles and one doubles title, accumulating over $19 million in prize money.

His notable achievements at Grand Slam tournaments include reaching the semifinals of the US Open in 2022 and the Australian Open in 2023. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Karen earned a silver medal in the singles event, finishing runner-up to Germany`s Alexander Zverev in the final. He was also a key member of the Russian team that claimed the Davis Cup title in 2021.

In July 2019, Khachanov achieved a career-high ranking, climbing to world No. 8 in the ATP rankings.

In 2016, Khachanov married Veronika Shklyaeva. The couple welcomed their first son, David, in September 2019, followed by their second son, Mikael, in July 2023.

Currently, Karen Khachanov holds the world No. 24 position in the global tennis rankings.
