World No. 23 Jakub Mensik shared his thoughts following his 6-1, 6-4 victory over Ben Shelton in the third round of the Madrid Masters tournament.
When asked about the strategy for playing against an opponent with a serve as powerful as his own, Mensik responded:
“Honestly, I don`t know. Today, my returning was just excellent. Although, of course, Ben can serve even better. Returning his serve at this altitude, and on such a fast clay court, was a challenging task. I knew he might not be in his best shape, just like me, but I still tried to give my maximum. I`m really happy about this win. We`ll see what the next match brings,” Mensik said in an on-court interview.
