World No. 1 Jannik Sinner commented on his dominant victory over Jiří Lehečka in the third round of Roland Garros, winning 6/0, 6/1, 6/2.
He mentioned his coach Simone Vagnozzi`s birthday, noting that he usually doesn`t play well on this day, and he was fortunate the match wasn`t played yesterday.
Commenting on his preparation for facing a dangerous opponent like Lehečka and how he managed to find his touch so quickly, Sinner said:
“It`s a pity it`s not that easy. In fact, in the morning I told the team that I felt good and was physically ready. We decided to start at a high tempo immediately because, in my opinion, the start in Grand Slams is very important. It gives you confidence throughout the path. I had a great warm-up and felt wonderful after just 25 minutes. Everything was calm, a relaxed morning.”
Sinner added that he went onto the court with the right mindset and followed the tactics developed by his team, whom he praised. He emphasized that the combination of all these factors, along with enjoying the game on the court, led to the result.
