The Italian world number one, Jannik Sinner, has shared his feelings about his eagerly anticipated return to the ATP Tour. This follows a period of absence after a violation of anti-doping regulations.
“With less than a month until my return, we are training intensely,” Sinner was quoted by Tennis.com. “I am hoping to regain my best form by the start of the clay court season. I understand it won`t be straightforward. The initial matches will be a significant challenge, but I`m counting on getting back into the right rhythm quickly. We`ll see how things progress from there.”
Sinner also reflected on how the enforced break impacted him.
“In the beginning of these three months, I managed to step away from my usual routine a bit and spent time with my loved ones,” he added. “I explored some new things and gained a better understanding of myself. I believe this break was beneficial for me.”
Jannik Sinner is set to make his comeback on the court at the clay-court `Masters` event in Rome, scheduled to begin on May 7th. He will enter the tournament holding the rank of the world`s number one player.
