The mother of world number one Jannik Sinner left the stands after her son lost the first set of his Rome Masters semifinal against Tommy Paul. Despite dropping the opening set 1-6, Sinner ultimately recovered to win the match in three sets.
“I left after the first set. Then I just walked around the stadium grounds and waited for the match to finish,” Siglinde Sinner told Eurosport. “I rarely ever watch Jannik`s matches live; it`s uncommon. It`s simply more comfortable for me to watch on television. The only times I`ve managed to watch live were the final and some group stage matches in Turin. My husband, on the other hand, stayed – he always finds it easy.”
