Jon Jones has revealed a significant career development as discussions about a potential UFC title unification bout with Tom Aspinall remain stalled.
Following his successful title defense against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, Jon Jones has faced ongoing criticism from UFC fans regarding his next steps.
Since Tom Aspinall claimed the interim heavyweight title at UFC 295 in late 2023, it was anticipated that Jones would need to unify the title against the British fighter.
However, the widely regarded greatest fighter of all time has consistently postponed the fight, recently stating he requires six months to adequately prepare.

Jon Jones Ventures into Promotion Ownership with UFC Rival
As fight negotiations continue to falter, Aspinall has expressed openness to facing another opponent rather than waiting indefinitely for Jones’ return.
With the anticipated fight announcement not materializing this Friday, a surprising revelation emerged: Jones has become a co-owner of Dirty Boxing Championship, Mike Perry’s combat sports promotion.
The promotion hosted its inaugural event last November in a private setting, where former UFC star Yoel Romero secured a victory in the main event.
Jones attended the event and was visibly surprised by Romero’s knockout.
Following in the footsteps of Conor McGregor, who co-owns BKFC, Jones, known as ‘Bones’, is scheduled to attend DBX1, their first official event this weekend.
“I was hooked from the first show. I believe this is going to be a powerhouse of combat sports. I’m proud to sign my name next to it,” Jones commented on joining Dirty Boxing Championship.
Yoel Romero to Headline Dirty Boxing Championship’s Official Debut
The timing of Jones’ involvement is opportune, as the promotion is set to stage its first official event this Saturday, March 22nd.
Yoel Romero is slated to headline against Ras Hylton, with fellow UFC veteran Andrei Arlovski facing Terrance Hodges in the co-main event.
This high-profile event will take place at The Hangar at Regatta Harbour in Miami, Florida.
