Juventus is reportedly thinking about firing their manager, Thiago Motta, before this season ends. Sources in Italy suggest that the club has started internal discussions about replacing Motta soon. It`s believed that former Lazio coach Igor Tudor is being considered as a temporary manager until the end of the season if Motta is dismissed.
Tudor, who previously played for Juventus and was an assistant coach there, recently left Lazio after a short period. Juventus might turn to him as an interim solution.
Motta`s time at Juventus hasn`t gone as planned. Despite expectations for a fresh start after Massimiliano Allegri`s departure, the team`s performance has been disappointing. While Juventus is still aiming for a Champions League spot, they were knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Empoli and didn`t advance in the UEFA Champions League playoffs.
Beyond results, Motta hasn`t been able to bring the exciting style of play he showed at Bologna last season. Additionally, reports indicate that some key players, including Dusan Vlahovic and Kenan Yildiz, are unhappy with the current coach.
Juventus will play Genoa next week. However, it`s uncertain if Motta will still be in charge for that game. In their last two league matches against Fiorentina and Atalanta, Juventus conceded seven goals and scored none. The 4-0 defeat at home to Atalanta was their worst home loss in Serie A since 1967. These results have caused a rift between the fans and the manager, increasing pressure on the club to make a quick decision about Motta`s future.
