World No. 361 Lois Boisson shared insights into how she prepares for matches against top players. The Frenchwoman is set to face Coco Gauff in the semifinals of her home `major` tournament.
Asked about collapsing on the court at the end of the match against Andreeva, and seemingly maintaining perfect composure throughout the match, she was questioned if the joy at the end was so overwhelming that it swept her away.
“Not entirely,” Boisson replied. “I don`t always fall onto the court like that. I was just under a lot of tension throughout the entire match. I tried to maintain composure, and at some point, I needed to release that.”
She was then asked about preparing for matches against opponents she had only seen on television.
“The preparation is almost always the same,” Boisson stated at the press conference. “It doesn`t matter if you`re playing against the 300th-ranked player in the world or someone from the Top 10. Nothing changes for me: we analyze the opponent`s game, and then on the court, I try to stick to the game plan.”
