World No. 9 Lorenzo Musetti reflected on his victory over Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals of the Rome Masters, where he won with a score of 7/6(1), 6/4.
“Physically, the match was very draining,” Musetti commented. “There were many long rallies in very difficult, slow conditions. I was playing in the evening session for the first time, and the conditions felt different compared to all the previous matches.”
Highlighting a pivotal moment, Musetti stated, “Of course, the four set points I saved [at 5/6 in the first set] really disrupted Zverev. I think I handled the situation well because I stayed strong, took advantage of his errors, kept fighting in the second set, and managed to get the crucial break.”
