World No. 47 Lorenzo Sonego commented on the strong performance of Italian players at this year`s Wimbledon, specifically mentioning the support he received from fellow Italian star Jannik Sinner during his third-round victory over American Brandon Nakashima.
Sonego shared his thoughts on the encouraging Italian presence: “Today Flavio Cobolli played a great match. I watched until I had to go out on court myself, and then we crossed paths. During my match, I saw Jannik in the stands. He was watching me, and that was very motivating. It`s great because now there are three of us here [in the Round of 16], and they are my friends. I`m very happy to be in the Round of 16 together with them, and I hope we can all continue the fight.”
