Marta Kostyuk: It’s Hard to Keep the Crowd Unless You’re Nadal, Federer, or Djokovic

Ukrainian world number 36 Marta Kostyuk, following her victory over Russian Anastasia Potapova in the fourth round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid, Spain, expressed her gratitude to the audience for staying for the late match. The encounter between Kostyuk and Potapova ended with a score of 6-3, 6-2 in Marta`s favor.

“I`m very happy that the spectators stayed. I know it`s already late. Thank you for staying. When you play late matches, it`s hard to keep the crowd, unless you`re Rafa, Roger, Novak, or Carlos,” Kostyuk said in an on-court interview.

In the quarterfinals of the Madrid tournament, Marta Kostyuk is scheduled to face world number one Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus.
