NWSL Power Rankings: Week 2 Analysis

The 2025 NWSL season is underway, and the power rankings are already reflecting team performances. After two weeks of play, there have been notable changes since the initial rankings.

Orlando Pride appear to be the team to beat this year, showcasing dominance even without key players scoring in every match. Kansas City`s victory over Washington Spirit has definitely tightened the competition at the top.

While the top positions remain relatively stable, the middle of the rankings is highly competitive. Many teams are still finding their rhythm, with some showing potential and others yet to fully ignite their season.

Racing Louisville experienced a significant drop this week. They couldn`t capitalize on their draw from the first week, and the injury of midfielder Savannah DeMelo, among other absences, casts uncertainty on their season trajectory.

Teams have opportunities to climb the rankings as the season progresses.

5.

Seattle Reign FC

+2

Seattle Reign are performing well even without key offseason signing Lynn Biyendolo. Exceeding initial expectations, they`ve already outperformed former playoff contenders.

North Carolina Courage

Despite tactical consistency, the Courage are struggling to find their offensive spark. A disconnect in the final third is currently hindering their performance.

7.

Houston Dash

+2

The Dash recovered quickly from an early setback on the road to dominate their match. Rookie Maggie Graham is making an impact with two goals off the bench in two games.
