Patricio Pitbull Open to Rematch with Michael Chandler After UFC Debut

Despite differing views on a rematch, the history between Michael Chandler and Patricio Pitbull remains significant.

Michael Chandler, a former three-time lightweight champion in Bellator MMA, experienced his last defeat against Patricio Pitbull in 2019, losing his title. Pitbull secured a TKO victory in the first round at Bellator 221, becoming Bellator`s first-ever simultaneous two-division champion.

Patricio Pitbull Recalls Michael Chandler`s Past Remarks

While Chandler seems uninterested in reigniting their rivalry now that they are in different divisions in the UFC, Pitbull has a different perspective on their shared history.

“He remembers what he said back in Bellator,” Pitbull stated in an interview with CBS Sports’ Shakiel Mahjouri.

“There was no misunderstanding. He made a comment about beating my entire family.

“My entire family, not just my brother, is included. His words were clear and cannot be retracted.”

Although their relationship remains distant in the UFC, Pitbull indicated he would be professional with Chandler, stating he would shake his hand if they meet at UFC 314.

Patricio Pitbull Expresses Interest in Chandler Rematch

Both Chandler and Pitbull are scheduled to compete at UFC 314, with Chandler in the co-main event against Paddy Pimblett and Pitbull making his UFC debut against Yair Rodriguez.

Despite considering their rivalry to be in the past, Patricio Pitbull still voices his desire for a rematch with Chandler, but this time in the UFC.

“If a fight opportunity arises, I would want to fight,” Pitbull said regarding a potential rematch with Chandler.

“In the cage, I mean,” Pitbull clarified, emphasizing he wants no confrontations outside of a professional fight setting before Apr. 12.

It`s worth noting that Michael Chandler might not be pleased to hear that his long-time rival is offering Paddy Pimblett advice on how to defeat him.
