Renowned coach Patrick Mouratoglou shared his expectations for Jannik Sinner`s return after a three-month break.
Mouratoglou noted that during Sinner`s absence, no one managed to take his leading position. He emphasized that although Djokovic reached the final in Miami, he didn`t win, and Alcaraz and Zverev didn`t show outstanding results. Mouratoglou suggested that if Alcaraz had won Indian Wells and Miami, he might have approached Sinner`s return with more confidence.
The coach highlighted Sinner`s strong mentality, recalling his previous successes. Mouratoglou is confident that Sinner will return to the top, just as he was three months ago. He added that competitors had a chance to strengthen their positions, but they did not take advantage of it.
Mouratoglou also commented on the issue of raising prize money at Grand Slam tournaments, supported by top players.
He expressed concern that only about 100 top players earn a living from tennis, considering it abnormal for such a profitable business. Mouratoglou stressed the importance of improving the financial situation of lower-ranked players for the future of tennis.
