Paula Badosa on Difficulties in Madrid

Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa, currently ranked world number nine, has expressed her feelings regarding the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid.

She shared her disappointment, stating, “It`s upsetting that all these difficult moments happen to me specifically in Madrid. However, putting that aside, the past year taught me a great deal – proving to myself that despite everything, I can return to my level.”

Badosa elaborated on the challenges of recovery: “When you come back after such a long injury, doubts emerge. If I did it once, can I do it again? You never know, and questions arise. That`s why I had to prove it to myself again, to do it a second time, and relatively quickly – within six or seven months. This gives me tremendous confidence and helps in times like now, when I`ve missed many important tournaments.”

It`s worth noting that the Spaniard has not participated in matches this season since the WTA 1000 event in Miami, where she withdrew from her fourth-round encounter against Alexandra Eala.
