Pimblett Responds to Tsarukyan’s ‘Handout’ Claims and Wealth Remark

Following a recent victory at UFC 314, Paddy Pimblett is setting his sights on the top contenders in the lightweight division.

While aiming for names like Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje, Pimblett has also been challenged by Arman Tsarukyan, currently ranked as the division`s number one contender.

Despite Tsarukyan`s interest in a fight that could potentially be a title eliminator, it appears the British fighter is not particularly focused on this matchup at present.

A verbal exchange has developed between the two fighters. Tsarukyan seemingly echoed past criticisms suggesting Pimblett receives preferential treatment or “handouts” in his career progression.

Pimblett fired back, referencing Tsarukyan`s wealthy background and his withdrawal from a scheduled rematch against Islam Makhachev at UFC 311 due to injury.

Arman Tsarukyan`s Current Position

Currently, Arman Tsarukyan faces a somewhat challenging situation. As the top-ranked contender, he is reluctant to face lower-ranked opponents.

However, his withdrawal from UFC 311 means he needs another significant win to solidify his claim for a title shot. This limits his potential opponents, especially if Pimblett pursues a fight with Justin Gaethje as he has indicated.

Possible opponents for Tsarukyan could include Dan Hooker, given their history, or potentially the fighter who loses the upcoming bout between Ilia Topuria and Charles Oliveira at UFC 317.
