World No. 18 Stefanos Tsitsipas discussed how he spent the time during the power outage in Madrid. On Monday, a large-scale electricity failure at the combined tournament meant play could not be completed for the day.
Tsitsipas seemed unconcerned by the disruption. “Everything was fine,” he commented. “Probably, I`m the best person for such situations. I know how to spend time.”
He elaborated on how he occupied himself: “I was reading, had good conversations with Paula [Badosa], with the team, and wasn`t particularly worried.”
Reflecting on the unexpected break, the Greek player added, “Give me any reason to do something else, and I`ll have a good day. By the way, I wasn`t here.”
