The Champions League final between PSG and Inter will take place on Saturday at the Allianz Arena in Munich. The match kicks off at 3 p.m. ET. The Nerazzurri (as Inter are known) are reaching a European final for the second consecutive time. In 2023, they lost 1-0 to Pep Guardiola`s Manchester City in the Champions League final. Now, Inter will aim to claim their fourth Champions League trophy, their first since 2010 under manager Jose Mourinho.
PSG, conversely, have never won the tournament and lost the 2020 final to Bayern Munich. According to their pre-match press conferences, both head coaches, Luis Enrique and Simone Inzaghi, have certain questions regarding their lineups for Saturday`s game.
Inter is expected to field their strongest possible lineup. Yann Sommer will be in goal. The defense will feature three center-backs: Alessandro Bastoni, Francesco Acerbi, and notably Benjamin Pavard, who returned to fitness this week and will likely start. German defender Yann Bisseck is expected on the bench. The rest of the team is anticipated to be the usual suspects: Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in midfield, with Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries on the wings. Inter captain Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram will form the strike partnership, as is customary.
PSG, on the other hand, faces only one significant lineup question ahead of the final. Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who will face his Italy teammates playing for Inter, will start in goal. Ahead of him in defense will play Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, William Pacho, and Nuno Mendes. In midfield will be João Neves, Vitinha, and Fabián Ruiz. The attack will feature Ousmane Dembélé and former Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, with the only uncertainty for Luis Enrique concerning the third forward – Desire Doué is expected to start ahead of Bradley Barcola.
