Ahmad Nassar, Executive Director of the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA), an organization founded by Novak Djokovic and Vasek Pospisil in 2020, explained the reason for the lawsuit against the ATP, WTA, ITF, and ITIA.
The lawsuit concerns restrictions on tennis players’ earnings, tournament schedules, ranking, and anti-doping systems.
The ATP responded to the lawsuit, accusing the PTPA of division and disinformation, instead of progress.
Nassar emphasized that tennis has the potential to expand its audience, but this requires a convenient calendar and improved television broadcasting. This will increase revenues for all participants, from tournaments to players, and improve the quality of the product for fans.
Nassar urged fans and players to actively support the PTPA on social media and at tournaments, expressing patience and support for the changes that the PTPA is trying to implement.
