Amélie Mauresmo, the director of Roland Garros, discussed the upcoming tribute ceremony for Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal, which is planned to take place ahead of this year`s tournament.
“Most of what will happen on the court during the ceremony will be unexpected for him,” Mauresmo stated. “He himself provided us with guidance regarding the overall atmosphere and what he wishes for. Rafael wants something simple, authentic, and real – which truly reflects who he is. We are striving to align with this approach.”
“There are still a few minor details that need to be finalized,” she added. “We have about a week left to refine everything and make it as good as possible.”
