As of Monday night, the Stars are trailing the Winnipeg Jets by six points in the Central Division standings (106 to 100) and are just one regulation win behind (40 to 39). Their game on Monday against the Seattle Kraken, who have been eliminated from playoff contention, is crucial for closing the gap on Winnipeg.
Looking ahead, the Stars` remaining schedule includes only two games against current playoff teams, one of which is a critical head-to-head game against the Jets on April 10. In contrast, the Jets will face five current playoff teams in their remaining games, presenting a tougher schedule.
While projections from Stathletes model suggest the Jets are favored to win the Central title with an 82.8% probability compared to the Stars` 17.2%, Dallas has a chance. By capitalizing on games against non-playoff teams and hoping for some favorable results from Winnipeg`s opponents, the Stars could still clinch the division.
