This weekend`s UFC Fight Night event faced a significant change just before fight night.
The UFC Apex is set to host a featherweight main event featuring Josh Emmett against the undefeated Lerone Murphy at UFC Vegas 105 on Saturday.
Originally planned for 13 fights, the UFC Vegas 105 card is now down to 12 bouts following issues at the official weigh-ins.
On Friday, 26 fighters were scheduled for the weigh-ins, but only 25 appeared.
Davey Grant vs. Daniel Santos Fight Cancelled
A highly anticipated bantamweight clash between UFC veteran Davey Grant and Brazil`s Daniel Santos has been cancelled for UFC Vegas 105. Grant successfully made weight at 135.5lbs on Friday.
However, Daniel Santos did not appear for the weigh-in, and it was later confirmed by UFC officials that he was removed from the fight due to medical reasons.
This is the fifth time Santos has been forced to withdraw from a scheduled UFC fight. He previously pulled out of bouts against Daniel Marcos and Said Nurmagomedov last Fall.
Santos has a UFC record of 2 wins and 1 loss. Davey Grant, his opponent, boasts 13 UFC fights, earning performance bonuses in five of them.
UFC Newcomer Misses Weight
UFC Vegas 105 will proceed with a total of 12 fights.
Earlier in the day, another fighter, UFC newcomer Cortavious Romious from Dana White`s Contender Series, missed the bantamweight limit. He weighed in at 139.5lbs, exceeding the limit by 3.5lbs.
His opponent, ChangHo Lee, who successfully weighed in at 136lbs, agreed to proceed with the fight. Romious will forfeit 20% of his fight purse as a penalty.
Cortavious Romious lost his debut fight against Gaston Bolanos by decision last November.
