“Was Impressed with the Level I’ve Been Training At Over the Past Couple of Days.” Taylor Fritz on Successful Madrid Masters Start

World No. 4 Taylor Fritz commented on his successful entry into the third round of the Madrid Masters tournament. In his second-round match, he defeated Christopher O`Connell of Australia with a score of 6/1, 6/4.

Reflecting on his performance, Fritz stated, “It`s nice to be back and play a really good match. I didn`t want to jinx it before the match, but I told my coach I was really impressed with the level I`d been training at over the past couple of days. I`m really happy I was able to show that level, despite the short preparation time.”

The defending champion of the Madrid tournament is Russian Andrey Rublev. The event in the Spanish capital is taking place from April 23 to May 4.
