WTA Head Portia Archer has expressed support for Ons Jabeur, who recently published a message during the French Open highlighting the inequality between women`s and men`s tennis.
“Ons shared a very powerful message,” Archer was quoted by BBC Sport as saying. “I think we will talk about this with the Grand Slams and other tournaments that, in our opinion, are not working as fans and the public want. I encourage fans not to stop. We will continue to advocate and promote this idea. In my opinion, this issue exists at other tournaments, not just the Grand Slams. Again, this is not a task I am assigning to someone specifically, so we will talk to all involved parties about how to implement changes in this area.”
