World No. 7 Zheng Qinwen of China shared her impressions of her third-round opponent at Roland Garros, Canadian Victoria Mboko, who is ranked 110th. Zheng secured a victory with a score of 6/3, 6/4.
Speaking after the match, Zheng expressed strong confidence in Mboko`s future prospects.
“I`m sure she will definitely become one of the best tennis players in the future. I`m 100% sure because she already has the power, she has the game,” Zheng stated.
She elaborated on what made Mboko a challenging opponent: “She hits the ball very hard, she has an excellent serve, she has a powerful game. She moves well on the court. Honestly, the match was very difficult because I knew: if my mental concentration drops even a little, if I lose focus, she will turn the game around.”
In the fourth round of the French Open, Zheng Qinwen is scheduled to play against Russia`s Liudmila Samsonova.
